Every year, the oil and gas industry hosts expos, conferences, and other events for industry professionals who want to stay current with energy trends. They connect important professionals in the industry to one another and are a great place to meet people.
Here are some of the most notable events coming up in 2016:
NAPE
Who can talk about oil and gas events without talking about the North American Prospect Expo (NAPE)? It’s one of the biggest gatherings of professionals in the industry. Next year, the NAPE Summit will be February 9 to 12 in Houston, Texas. The summit features almost 15 acres of exhibitions, seminars, and more. It's the place to be for gas and oil executives from around the world, and it offers plenty of opportunities to make valuable connections.
NAPE Summer will give everyone another chance to experience NAPE if they can’t get to the February expo. The summer event will be August 10 and 11, also in Houston. Unlike the summit, NAPE Summer is smaller and more intimate; with 6,000 people expected to attend, this is a good chance to meet prospects and important players in a more personal setting.
EnerCom's Oil & Gas Conference
EnerCom conducts globally recognized oil and gas conferences each year. More than 100 companies are planning to attend in 2016, as are 2,500 investors. The conference will offer a world of opportunity; investors will be able to hear senior managers present plans for the future, while giving oil and gas executives a chance to learn about developments in the industry.
The companies planning to attend represent more than 40 businesses on six continents, and the event will garner global media coverage. It will take place August 14 to 18 in Denver, Colorado.
IHS Energy CERAWeek
Head over to Houston, Texas, from February 22 to 26 for the IHS Energy Conference. This event will feature leaders of the coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, and renewable energy industries. It will be the 35th annual meeting, and industry professionals have a lot to look forward to. With more than 120 sessions and hundreds of speakers, there will be much to learn at this event.
The 2016 theme is "Energy Transition: Strategies for a New World." The conference sessions will cover strategy development, investments, trends, environmental considerations, regulations, and more.
Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition
Engineering professionals and field supervisors who attend the Subsea Tieback Forum & Exhibition will be able to learn about the current issues, strategies, and trends in the tieback industry. The event covers some of the challenges the industry will face in the coming years and how they can be resolved. Think of it as a giant brainstorming session. If that sounds like something that would benefit you, head over to San Antonio, Texas, from March 22 to 24.
Offshore Technology Conference
The Offshore Technology Conference will be in Houston, Texas, May 2 to 6. Roughly 90,000 industry experts will gather to learn about new science and technology in the industry. People come from 130 countries to attend this conference. The conference is expected to draw investors, buyers, entrepreneurs, key players, and industry thought leaders.
AICPA & PDI Oil & Gas Conference
For those oil and natural gas workers who want to learn more about finances, this event offers a chance to brush up on financial skills. The two-day conference will give you an opportunity to hear from the industry’s financial leaders. It will cover finances, legislation, and other political issues. It's focused on financial education and how it affects the oil and gas workforce worldwide. It will take place in Denver, Colorado, from November 13 to 15.
